And, by stating that he believes Shami’s best format is the longest one, and that India has more capable quick bowlers in their Twenty20 roster.

Hardik Pandya, an all-rounder, has been selected as the fourth pacer for India’s 15-man team. Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Avesh Khan, and Arshdeep Singh will serve as India’s three specialist fast bowlers in the tournament.

“Over the past several years, Shami has established himself as one of India’s most reliable bowlers. Ponting, a two-time World Cup-winning captain, stated in the most recent episode of The ICC Review that his Test cricket is probably where he thrives the most. “If you look at his strengths, his Test cricket is probably where he thrives the most,”

“In the Twenty20 format of Indian cricket, I believe there are faster bowlers than Shami, but they’ve only named three of them” (for the Asia Cup). Therefore, if there are potentially four people mentioned in the team, it’s possible that he’ll be the fourth man in. As Jasprit Bumrah and Harshal Patel continue to recover from their respective injuries, many speculated that Shami could be called upon to assist with the new ball at the Asia Cup.

“If I had to guess, I would say that they will most likely only bring the four quicks to Australia. “Even though the wickets probably aren’t all that favourable to spin, they’ll still want to bring a lot of it here,” Ponting said.

India has been selected by Ponting as the team most likely to triumph at the Asia Cup, which will take place in Dubai and Sharjah from the 27th of August to the 11th of September.

The 47-year-old cricketer said, “It’s always hard to go past India in any tournament, not just an Asia Cup, but I think every time we talk about the T20 World Cup which is coming up, I think that India will be right in the thick of it there.” “It’s always hard to go past India in any tournament, not just an Asia Cup.”

    Statements

Because India has a stronger roster overall than any of the other teams in the tournament, I believe they will emerge victorious. Since nearly ten years ago, archrivals India and Pakistan have not fought against one other in a bilateral series of any kind.

Ponting stated, “To be completely honest, it’s one that we haven’t been starved of, haven’t we… looking back over the last 15 or 20 years.” “Looking back over the last 15 or 20 years.”

“As someone who is passionate about cricket and a spectator of the sport, I can say that whenever those kinds of battles arise, it’s virtually always enjoyable to sit back and watch because everything just takes it up a notch, doesn’t it?”

When I think about competitions, the Ashes cricket series between Australia and England is at the top of my mental list since it is the pinnacle of our Test match game. I have no doubt that both Indians and Pakistanis will say the same thing about that, and I believe that the actual rivalry would be the zenith of Test match cricket for both India and Pakistan as well. Ponting is of the opinion that India has the strength to triumph over Pakistan.

“I’m going to have to side with India in order for them to triumph over Pakistan. That in any way diminishes Pakistan’s standing as a great cricketing nation that consistently produces world-class players is beyond the scope of this argument.
