SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) has made significant changes since finishing last in the 2023 IPL and is now considered a favorite for the new campaign. With Pat Cummins as captain, the Orange Army has an excellent Indian contingent and eight world-class overseas players. However, due to their strong squad, some deserving players may be benched for most or all of the campaign. Three excellent SRH players might be benched for the whole 2024 IPL.
The squad for IPL 2024 includes Aiden Markram, Abdul Samad, Rahul Tripathi, Glenn Phillips, Heinrich Klaasen, Mayank Agarwal, Anmolpreet Singh, Upendra Yadav, Nitish Reddy, Shahbaz Ahmed, Abhishek Sharma, Marco Jansen, Washington Sundar, Sanvir Singh, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Mayank Markande, Umran Malik, T Natarajan, Fazalhaq Farooqi, Travis Head, Wanindu Hasaranga, Pat Cummins (c).

Three excellent SRH players might be benched for the whole 2024 IPL. Glenn Phillips
- Anmolpreet Singh: One of the main players in Punjab’s incredible run to win the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy in 2023–24 was Anmolpreet Singh. With a strike rate of 180.2 and an average of 44.37, the aggressive hitter scored 355 runs in nine innings, including one hundred and fifty. Anmolpreet, though, may find it tough to get into the IPL with a star-studded SRH team.
Almost every spot is taken by the SunRisers, even in the middle order. Anmolpreet is an infrequent wicket-keeper, but he has done enough to deserve a decent run in an IPL club. However, SRH may not be able to provide him any opportunities this year.
- Glenn Phillips: Speaking of sporadic wicketkeepers, Glenn Phillips has transformed from a white-ball cricket glove wearer to one of the shortest format’s top utility all-rounders. The dynamic Kiwi is a regular in all three forms and has lately made contributions in all departments on a global scale.
Even though Phillips seems like a tempting T20 package, SRH simply has too much talent abroad to deploy him. The captain of the previous season, Aiden Markram, is a dependable and adaptable batsman who can make an impact on the field with his off-spin.
- Fazalhaq Farooqi: It’s easy to understand why Fazalhaq Farooqi has established himself as a fixture in franchise leagues all across the world. The left-arm pacer has outstanding control and can stroke the ball both ways, making him lethal with the bat. Along with being a respectable death-overs alternative, he now possesses a steady slower ball and reasonably accurate yorkers. But, as they frequently are, SRH is anticipated to be reliant on their home fast bowlers in the IPL 2024.
