    Goalkeepers are the unsung heroes of every football team. Most of their job is to stop the ball from going past them. But some goalkeepers have done exceptionally well in front of their community and their country as well as in world football.

    1. Petr Čech

    Chelsea is a prominent football player from the Czech Republic, and serves as a special consultant and backup goalkeeper. Multiple players, experts, and coaches recognized him as one of the greatest goalkeepers in memory.

    He began his professional debut in 1999 at Chmel Blsany, wherein he occasionally played for the next two seasons before switching to Sparta Prague in 2001. Cech is among the best goalies of all time due to his excellent performances and abilities. He is the first goalie to have received the Golden Glove award for a different club four times.

    Sar worked as a high executive with AFC Ajax and played professional football there. After 130 caps, Wesley Sneijder held the record for most matches for the Netherlands in 2017. 

    Experts and his teammates recognize him as one of the greatest goalkeepers ever. He is one of the most accomplished goalies in history, having won 26 major championships. He also established a global record by conceding no goals in the competition for 1,311 minutes during the season.

    1. Gordon Banks

    Gordon was a pro football player who kept goals for the English national squad. Banks played in 679 matches over his professional career and earned 73 caps for Britain, playing each of the team’s games at the 1966 Tournament.

    Although being the top player for Stoke and England, a vehicle accident in October 1972 caused him to lose the vision in his right eye and his profession. Among his era’s most attractive football players had, his profession ended there. Also,  He received six Goalie of the Year awards from FIFA, and in 1972, the FWA voted him Football player of the Year.

    Dino Zoff, a retired competitive football player, was a goalkeeper. At 40 years old, Italy’s national team leader became the eldest World Cup champion ever. Zoff also won the prize for best goalkeeper. His selection for the championship team, which he also earned after conquering the 1968 European Championship at home, was made possible by the two clean saves he had during the competition.

    Neuer’s achievements place him among some of the best goalkeepers in the game’s history. In addition, he is currently the best goalie in football who is still playing.

    He is regarded as one of the greatest goalies of all eras because of the tremendous accomplishments he has racked up during his life. Kahn became the first goalie to win the Golden Ball in the Tournament in 2002.

Schmeichel finished his Manchester United tenure with the club, having achieved the FA Champions League trophy, the FA Cup, and the Champs League simultaneously.

    He was a former keeper who represented Spain on the field. Because his incredible saves have gained him the moniker “San Iker,” Casillas has made a name as one of the best goalies. He is athletic and has a great response time. He is known as the world’s one of the  best shot-stoppers.

    He played in over 1000 competitive tournaments during his extended career with Real Madrid. He tied the title for the cleanest bookings for the Spain national squad and the Championships. Even after retiring, he is still regarded as among the best football players in history.

Yashin’s renown for reinventing the position resulted from his control over the entire defense.  From 1958 and 1970, he participated in four Cup Finals, and in 2002, he was selected for the FIFA World Cup.

    According to FIFA, Yashin has the title for stopping the most extra points ever in pro football. He is, without question, among the most successful athletes to have ever competed in the FIFA World Cup.

    He is a goalie who competes for the Parma of Serie B. So many are regarded as superb goalkeepers, and many rank him as the best. And for his whole career, he stayed one of the highest-paid sportsmen.

    He is among the rare players with more than 1,100 registered matches in their professional careers. Having 176 caps, he holds the record for most appearances for the Italian national team. He now ranks ninth among all football players in terms of appearances. After participating in four European Championships, Bufon took bronze at the 2013 FIFA Confed Cup.

    Football is not only among the biggest famous games today but among the games with the highest-paid. Goalkeepers, sometimes known as goalies, are among the roles on a sports team who act as the final line of defense.
