    Sachin Tendulkar is the leading run scorer of all time in test cricket matches. He is called the God of cricket and ‘The Master Blaster’ by his fans and the cricket fraternity. He is the only cricketer to have played the most number of test matches, i.e., 200 in cricket history.

    Sachin Tendulkar has set the benchmark for the highest runs in Test Matches. He scored 15921 runs in 200 matches. Right after Sachin, Ricky Ponting and Jacques Kallis are next on the list for the highest score in tests, with 13378 and 13289 runs, respectively.

    The highest test score by a batsman is none other than Brian Lara. He made 400* not out against England in 2004. Below is the list of the top 10 cricketers who are the highest run scorers in the history of test matches cricket.

    10. Allan Border

    The legendary Allan Border is one of the best batsmen of the 90s. He is the second Australian on the list and holds the record for the last 26 years. His first match was played in 1978 against England. In his era he dominated the bowlers completely, bowlers would look clueless in front of him. His career was of 16 years (1978-1994), where he amassed 11174 runs in 156 matches.

    9. Mahela Jayawardene

    Mahela Jayawardene’s name on this topic is not surprising. The Lankan legend has also made it to the list of top 10 run Scorers in ODI cricket. Mahela made his test debut in 1997 against India. In his 17 years (1997-2014) career, he played exceptionally well. Jayawardene’s supreme performance in the format was 374 against South Africa in 2006.

    8. Shivnarine Chanderpaul

    Shivnarine Chanderpaul occupies 8th place in the matter of amassing the most test runs, 11867 runs in 164 games . He was a test specialist batsman, who had the caliber to Stay on the wicket the whole day in a test match. Chanderpaul played his first match in 1994 Against England. His career span was 21 years (1994-2015).

    7. Brain Lara

    Brain Lara has to be on this list. Lara is considered one of the top 3 players to play the game. Lara made his test debut 30 years back in 1990 against Pakistan. He was the most stylish batsman to play the game. He has had a long career of 16 years (1990-2006).  The Caribbean legend has registered the highest score in an innings, 400* against England in 2004. Averaging 52.88, the southpaw made 11953 runs.

    6. Kumar Sangakkara

    Kumar Sangakkara is the 6th highest run-scorer in test cricket (12400). He is one of the finest wicket-keeper batsmen to ever be part of the game. The Lankan legend made his debut in 2000 against South Africa. He was around for 15 years in test cricket (2000-2015). Sanga has the highest batting average (57.40) among the players playing 100 tests.

    5. Alastair Cook

    Alastair Cook is one of the best openers in the history of test cricket. He is the only English batsman on the list. Cook has scored 12472 runs for England in 161 matches with his technically sound batting. He represented England in test cricket for 12 years (2006-2018). His first test match was against India in 2006. England was in a winning ride in his presence in the team.

    4. Rahul Dravid

    Rahul Dravid has notched up the 4th most runs in test cricket history, 13288 runs. He is termed as one of the greatest ever to play the game. The entire world call him “the Wall” for his outstanding batting, it was very difficult to get him out. He made his first appearance in Test against England in 1996 and played 16 years of test cricket for India (1996-2012).

    3. Jacques Kallis

    Former Proteas all-rounder Jacques Kallis gets the 3rd spot on the list of accumulating the most runs (13289) in the test. Kallis is one of the best all-rounders to ever play the game. He also holds the record of scoring the most runs for South Africa in international Cricket. Kallis played his first test match in 1995 against England. The right-hander has bagged 292 wickets in the tests. He has had a long career of 18 years (1995-2013).

    2.Ricky Ponting

    Ricky Ponting comes at No.2 in terms of making the most runs in the test cricket, 13378 runs in 168 games. Ponting was one of the best batsmen of his era and a brilliant captain. He made his test debut in 1995 against Sri Lanka. Sachin represented Australia for 17 years (1995-2012) in tests. He is also the highest run-scorer of Australia across all formats.

Making his test debut at the age of 16 against Pakistan, He has been part of India in test cricket for 24 years (1989-2013). Sachin is termed as one of the greatest cricketers of all time.  He scored 51 centuries and 58 half-centuries in the longest format of the game.
