One of the best bowling units in the world is Team India. That was shown on Day 1 and Day 3 of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy’s first Test match against Australia in Nagpur.

In the first innings, Ravindra Jadeja was the best bowler, but Ashwin chose a different fielder in the second.

Additionally, India’s dominant pace bowling unit has contributed to the team’s success in the international series. But which of them has been the most difficult Indian team bowler?

In an interview with Cricbuzz on the show “Rise of New India,” veteran India wicketkeeper-batsman Dinesh Karthik referred to Mohammed Shami as the “toughest bowler” he has ever encountered for the Indian team.

He went on to say that “legends” like Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli “hated” playing Shami.
“Torture Shami” will be my one and only word for Shami.

He has also bowled me out a few times in the match because he is the toughest nets bowler I have ever faced in my career. However, he has been a nasty netminder.

Karthik went on to say that Shami’s length of his bowling, in addition to his “upright seam position,” makes him equally dangerous and unfortunate at times.

“All of his strength comes into play in a net session. His upright seam position, his natural length, that nasty length of 6-8 meters.

“What makes him so special is where the two most common dismissals are caught behind or caught at slip.”

Because of that length, you can see why he has been unlucky over time as well. He gets the batsman beaten multiple times but never gets that wicket.

He has traveled overseas for series in which he has consistently been the bad bowler because he gets the most deliveries bowled, but never enough wickets,” he explained.

“When the ball is released, the revs for a fast bowler are close to 1000 rpm. But Shami’s are close to 1500-1600.

He is unique because of that. He is literally unplayable when you have that much backspin and a small amount of wicket, “he added.
