When it comes to Virat Kohli and Babar Azam, fans will do anything they can to compare the two. They do this to show that one is better than the other. Fans even make the craziest arguments to prove that their favorite player is superior to the competitors.
Babar’s comeback
On Thursday, Pakistan beat England by 10 wickets. The opening pair of Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan did not lose their wickets as they chased down England’s 199-run total. The Pakistani captain, Babar, had struggled with his form in the last few games. But he shut down his critics with a 66-ball century in which he hit 11 fours and 5 sixes. It was a fantastic innings, a treat to the eyes.
But when it was time for Azam to get his 100th run, he chose to play it safe and not try for a big shot. Instead, he just nudged the ball and took a single to get to the other side of the field. He and his batting partner then celebrated the moment.
Kohli fans upset
Fans of Virat Kohli claimed that Babar’s century in 66 balls wasn’t impressive enough. Even though he played an outstanding innings, all they could talk about was how Babar got his hundred with a single. Then, to make the Pakistani captain’s achievement seem even less impressive, they started to compare it to how Virat Kohli got his 71st century against Afghanistan in India’s last match of the Asia Cup 2022.
The focus was also on the fact that Kohli went for the boundaries even though he was under a lot of pressure to end this three-year drought. So naturally, Kohli’s fans responded to the comparison by saying great things about their star. But, of course, they also said terrible things about Babar.

There are no brownie points for guessing how the other side of the argument turned out. Babar fans were not really on the same level as Kohli’s fans. They pointed out that Kohli had scored a century against Afghanistan, which was a much weaker team than England. They also said that Kohli’s goal in the match had no effect on the tournament or India’s progress. At the same time, Babar’s efforts tied the series with the opponents at 1-1.
