    Lionel Messi and company were greeted by a large crowd upon their plane landing in Ezeiza. Which is just outside of Buenos Aires, in the early hours of Tuesday. By defeating France in the FIFA World Cup 2022 Final on Sunday at the Lusail Stadium in Qatar, Argentina made history. It was Argentina’s third World Cup trophy and the only one that was still in Lionel Messi’s glittering trophy case after the victory.

    Argentines flocked to their streets to celebrate the victory after the victory. The scenes that followed were nothing short of breathtaking. A red carpet was rolled out for the team when the Messi-led team arrived at Ezeiza, just outside of Buenos Aires, by plane in the early hours of Tuesday. Lionel Scaloni followed the Argentina captain as the first player from the trophy-carrying plane.

    The world champions then got on a bus with an open top. Sped along a highway with a crowd of fans. The Argentine team waved to the fans and sang along with them as they traveled. The bus journey to the AFA headquarters, which are approximately 11 kilometers away from the airport, took approximately one hour.

    Argentina scored first in a thrilling final when captain Messi converted a penalty kick in the 23rd minute after Angel Di Maria was fouled in the French box. After that, Alexis Mac Allister assisted Di Maria on a quick counter. In the 36th minute, making it 2-0 for the South Americans. With France edging towards an embarrassing loss, Kylian Mbappe acted as the hero, evening out the match in 97 seconds.

    The left winger converted a penalty kick in the 80th minute to make it 1-2. After Kolo Muani was brought down in the Argentinean box. The PSG star then scored a stunning volley in the 81st minute to tie the score at 2-2. As the game entered extra time, both teams began to rush for a goal. Messi appeared to have scored for Argentina when he scored in the 108th minute.

    Following a deflection from Hugo Lloris, it make it 3-2. However, in the 118th minute, Mbappe responded once more by winning a penalty to complete his hat trick and make it 3-3. Emiliano Martinez won the penalty shootout with saves against Kingsley Coman and Aurelian Tchouameni. Argentina won the shootout 4-2 thanks to a penalty kick from Gonzalo Montiel.
