It is the most important test in modern-day cricket fitness. It is expected that players will be fit all the time. Unfortunately for the next game, they get very little time to regain their fitness. And more important is determining how much fitness they have. For that purpose, the yo-yo test was introduced.

    How To Pass Yo-Yo Test?

This test can be called a beep test variation. This is an ongoing Arabic fitness test. Where cricketers have to run between two sets of cones twenty meters apart.

There is a process of running, not just running. For Example, once a beep is played, a player has to reach the other cone on the next beep. Then, the player must return to the starting cone before hearing the third beep. Once the return trip is complete, it will mark the end of a shuttle.

It is worth mentioning here that each shuttle has a seven-second recovery time. In this way, the level of each shuttle increases a little. As a result, the benchmark gradually declines during the shuttle period.

This test starts with level 5. Which has one shuttle. Level 11 has two shuttles. This way you have to gradually cross many very difficult levels. Level 23 is called the highest.

If a player misses two beeps, their test is over. In Yo-Yo Test the process is software-based and the results are recorded.

    Minimum Score Range For Cricketer:

The yo-yo score for the Indian team is 16.1. Where they have to complete one shuttle at level sixteen. Unfortunately, the yo-yo score of the Indian team is the lowest. Where Pakistan’s yo-yo score is 17.4.

New Zealand has the highest yo-yo score. Their score is 20.1. As you can see, the West Indies are not far behind. They also have a good enough yo-yo score, which ended at 19.

    What are New Fitness rules?

The BCCI has said that, if Indian cricketers survive at 16.1 in the yo-yo test, it will not work anymore. The level of the test has been increased to 17.1.
Players could choose either the yo-yo test or time travel before. But now the BCCI has made it mandatory to pass one of the two fitness tests.

Understandably, the BCCI is desperate to improve the fitness of its players. Because they want our cricketers to come close to global standards as soon as possible.
