Where are the members of India’s starting lineup from their most recent Test match against the West Indies?: Later this month, India and West Indies will play a two-match ICC World Test Championship (WTC) series. For both teams, it will be the inaugural series of the new WTC 2023–25 season.

India’s first test on Caribbean soil since 2019 will be this one. The Men in Blue only participated in white-ball matches when touring the Caribbean countries in 2022. Since the team’s most recent Test match against the West Indies, a lot has changed in Indian cricket.

In this piece, we’ll examine India’s starting lineup from their most recent Test match against the West Indies and where those individuals stand right now.

Where are the members of India's starting lineup from their most recent Test match against the West Indies?

Ravindra Jadeja, Ishant Sharma, Mohammed Shami, and Jasprit Bumrah are all-rounders and bowlers

The only other all-rounder in the starting XI was Ravindra Jadeja. In the game, he captured four wickets in total and scored 16 runs. In the second innings, he secured the key dismissals of Roston Chase, Jason Holder, and Jahmar Hamilton.

In the game, the Indian pace attack was made up of Ishant Sharma, Mohammed Shami, and Jasprit Bumrah. Sharma shocked spectators by hitting a half-century in the first innings. Three other wickets in the match were taken by the big bowler.

The best Indian bowler, Jasprit Bumrah, claimed six wickets in the first innings. When he eliminated Darren Bravo, Shamarh Brooks, and Roston Chase from the Test match, he became the third Indian to record a hat-trick. Mohammed Shami gave him the best support possible by taking five wickets in two innings.

For the next series against the West Indies squad, Shami has been given a rest, and Bumrah is recovering from an injury. Sharma is no longer a member of the Test team. Only Jadeja from this group will be playing in the upcoming series against the West Indies.

Players: Rishabh Pant (wk), Ajinkya Rahane, Hanuma Vihari, Cheteshwar Pujara, Mayank Agarwal, KL Rahul (c), and Virat Kohli (c)

In that encounter at Sabina Park, India fielded seven hitters, one all-rounder, and three bowlers. Beginning on August 30, 2019, the game. Hanuma Vihari hit 111 runs off 225 deliveries to help India score 416 runs in the first innings. A half-century was also recorded by captain Virat Kohli.

KL Rahul and Mayank Agarwal, who batted first, had a disappointing Test match. Even Cheteshwar Pujara was unable to turn his strong start into a significant score. Ajinkya Rahane led the way with an unbeaten 64 in the second innings, and Vihari contributed with a 76-ball 53 to help Rahane.

When Rishabh Pant batted once, he amassed 27 points off of 65. Notably, he hit two fours and a six in his 27-run outing.

The Indian Test team for the forthcoming series against the West Indies only includes Kohli and Rahane. Hanuma Vihari, Cheteshwar Pujara, and Mayank Agarwal have all been dropped. Rahul and Pant are currently getting better from their wounds.

It’s interesting to note that the current captain of India, Rohit Sharma, was named to the squad for the 2019 Test series but was benched for both matches.

Summary of the final Test between India and the West Indies

West Indies 117 (Shimron Hetmyer 34, Jasprit Bumrah 6/27) & 210 (Shamarh Brooks 50, Ravindra Jadeja 3/58) were defeated by India 416 (Hanuma Vihari 111, Jason Holder 5/77) & 168/4 dec (Ajinkya Rahane 64, Kemar Roach 3/28) by 257 runs.
