The final of the event, the third iteration of the Lanka Premier League (LPL), is scheduled to take place on December 23. The initial LPL 2022 schedule called for it to take place from August 1 to August 21. However, the competition was postponed indefinitely owing to the nation’s economic problems.
The T20 competition will feature a total of five teams: Colombo Stars, Dambulla Giants, Galle Gladiators, Jaffna Kings, and Kandy Falcons. Each team will play each other twice during the Lankan tournament, which will be played in a double round-robin format. The top four teams at the conclusion of the league will advance to the playoffs.
