Sofia Kenin, Elina Svitolina, and Karolina Pliskova headlined the WTA 500 field chasing the season’s first title and embracing competitive encounters ahead of the first Major of the season that starts in Melbourne on February 8.
Johanna Konta, Garbine Muguruza, Elena Rybakina, Elise Mertens, and Marketa Vondrousova were on the entry list too, with exciting matches coming right from the opening round. Abu Dhabi is the only WTA event scheduled in January.
