Three brave Indian cricketers persevered despite injury in the second ODI against Bangladesh on December 7 Indian skipper Rohit Sharma batted at number 9 during the match.

He was aware of the potential dangers of further aggravating the injury he had sustained while fielding. However, Rohit made the decision to assist his team when the series was in jeopardy.

How an athlete performs for the team in difficult situations is the true test. Despite their physical condition or injuries, they may be required to participate on the team at times. Their tenacity, resolve, and strength are clearly demonstrated by this.

On that note, how about we see three such daring Indian players who played in spite of being harmed?

Indian captain Rohit Sharma was fielding in the second One-Day International against Bangladesh in Mirpur, Dhaka, when he injured his left thumb.

He was attempting to take a catch in the slip region early in the match when he got hurt. Rohit did not pitch or start the inning because he was taken to the hospital for scans. KL Rahul assumed captaincy duties while Virat Kohli served as India’s opening player.

India was struggling at 65/4 in the 19th over as they chased a steep target of 272. However, India came back into the game thanks to a century partnership between Shreyas Iyer (82) and Axar Patel (56)
Rohit walked to the crease with 64 required from the last seven overs.

He played a blinder, scoring 51 runs without a loss from just 28 deliveries. The star hitter nearly contributed to his team’s victory, but Bangladesh won the game by five runs.
Despite losing. For his bravery, Rohit was admired by cricket fans and the cricket community.

    #2 Hanuma Vihari

Hanuma Vihari and Ravichandran Ashwin batted 258* balls.

The Border Gavaskar Trophy from 2020 to 21 truly stood out. At various points in the series, it was encouraging to see fringe players step up for Team India.

At the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG), Hanuma Vihari, who had a hamstring injury, played arguably his most crucial Test match to keep India alive in the series.
India wanted to win the Test match going into Day 5. Cheteshwar Pujara held one end while Rishabh Pant played his typical attacking style, resulting in a brilliant partnership. Be that as it may, both were excused in the range of 10 overs.

Hanuma Vihari and Ravichandran Ashwin had to draw the Test and keep the series alive with Ravindra Jadeja also injured.

To ensure a draw, the pair continued to block deliveries for 42.4 overs. They didn’t rotate the strike as frequently because Vihari had a hamstring injury. Ashwin batted 128 times and scored 39 runs, while Vihari faced 161 balls for his 23 runs.

    #3 Anil Kumble

#OnThisDay in 2002, Anil Kumble bowled an incredible 14 overs with a broken jaw against the West Indies, and ended up dismissing Brian Lara.

Anil Kumble is a symbol of perseverance and resolve. He still holds the record for the most wickets taken by India.
Although Kumble was not as “naturally skilled” as some of his competitors around the world, he had a champion mindset and excellent game awareness.

India visited the West Indies in 2002. Kumble was hit while batting during the fourth Test in Antigua by a bouncer from Mervyn Dillon. He was unable to continue playing because he had broken his jaw.

Kumble, on the other hand, returned to the field after spotting some obvious assistance for the spinners. After that, batting with a sore throat, he bowled 14 consecutive overs and bowled out the dangerous Brian Lara.

Despite his severe injury, Kumble bowled with control and only conceded 29 runs. The test ended in a draw in the end.
