On Thursday, 5 January, the Adelaide Strikers and Hobart Hurricanes will square off in Match 30 of the Big Bash League (BBL) 2022-23. The game will be held at the Adelaide Oval. The Strikers, headed by Peter Siddle, began the competition with three consecutive victories and were heavy favourites to finish first in the points table.
However, they have fallen down the pecking order and are now on a four-match losing run. The Strikers have dropped from first to fifth place in the rankings. Their net run rate of +1.029, on the other hand, is still respectable, thanks in large part to their stunning win against Sydney Thunder last month.

The Adelaide Oval pitch has been a sporty one for cricket. However, batting first should be the preferred strategy because chasing down objectives of more than 160 runs may be difficult.
For the time being, there is no prospect of rain. The playing conditions will be nice, with temperatures hovering around 21 degrees Celsius. The humidity level will be primarily around the 50s.
Adelaide Strikers took the lead with three wins in three games. The past season’s semi-finalists have plummeted to fourth position in the points standings after four consecutive defeats.
In the rematch following their 177-run loss in Hobart, they will face the Hobart Hurricanes at home. The Hurricanes triumphed by seven wickets with 16 balls to spare, due to a strong start from Caleb Jewell and Ben McDermott and a great finish from Tim David.
Despite the fact that the Strikers have scored 170 points or more in their past two games, Peter Siddle must be concerned about the bowling effort. The bowlers were outstanding against the Strikers, picking up 7 wickets while defending a modest score of 133 runs.
However, Strikers have conceded 186 bowling first and 178 bowling second since then. So far this season, the Hobart Hurricanes have won three and lost three matches.
