Jagadeesan’s batting mantra is simple: Stay in the middle and bat for the remaining 50 runs. In the Vijay Hazare Trophy, Tamil Nadu defeated Arunachal Pradesh by an incredible 435 runs on Monday thanks to Jagadeesan’s life-changing 277, which was the highest List A score ever.

He broke the 20-year-old List A record set by Alistair Brown, who hit 268 for Surrey vs. Glamorgan, with his blistering shot.

When asked about his reaction to breaking a world record score, Jaggi, as he is referred to by his teammates, responded, “It felt really good…”

“I mean, I think the only goal I have for myself is to play 50 overs in both this game and the others. The opposition’s identity is irrelevant. For me, there is only one process, and my goal is to stay in the middle.

The ‘keeper-batter crushed the hapless Arunachal bowling attack with a score of 277 from 141 balls, including 15 sixes, for his fifth consecutive hundred.

His fireworks helped Tamil Nadu score 506 runs for 2 in 50 overs. Arunachal was bowled out for 71 by the TN bowlers, making it the biggest List A victory ever.

For the past six years, Jagadeesan has been a member of the Tamil Nadu team. During times when Dinesh Karthik is unavailable, he has been moved around the batting order.

The 26-year-old stated, “I have been working a lot on my batting and also my keeping and especially on my fitness.” He also said he has been working hard on his fitness. It’s something I’ve been doing for a while now.” Eventually, I feel good when I score runs,” he stated.

According to Jagadeesan, his 128-run performance against Haryana was his favorite.

“I think I’d have to say that the one against Haryana was very good,” I would say. They bowled well, and even in the 40th over, the ball was seaming around. I obviously value every knock, but the one in Haryana was more difficult. Jagadeesan replied that he was just following the procedure when asked if he was aware of the record.

Not just that, he has now become the first player to score hundreds in five consecutive innings in men's List A cricket along with 15 (6) Sixes in his innings of 277, the most by any batter in a Vijay Hazare Trophy innings.#NarayanJagadeesan #VijayHazareTrophy #WicketKeeper pic.twitter.com/254BhtlwSX

partner B Sai Sudharsan set a record for the highest partnership for any wicket in a 50-over game as well as the highest ever List A score.

The two added 416 runs for the main wicket, overshadowing the past record of 372 between Chris Gayle and Marlon Samuels for the second wicket for West Indies against Zimbabwe in an ODI in 2015.

“It has been incredible. I adore playing bat with Sai. We greatly complement one another. We feel really good about the fact that we run hard between the wickets. We get along well with each other.

Jagadeesan stated, “Keeping wickets after batting for nearly 50 overs”: Sincerely, that makes me very happy. It feels good to play nearly 50 hours and keep wickets after working hard.

“That was their decision, not mine. I would not be able to control it. Controlling how I played was the only thing I could do.”He spent four years with CSK and appeared in seven IPL matches.

M Venkataramana, the coach of Tamil Nadu, lavished both Jagadeesan and Sudharsan with praise.
Their approach demonstrates their determination and thirst for significant goals,” he stated.
