On Saturday, March 4, Atalanta and Udinese meet at the Gewiss Stadium in the 25th round of Serie A. The team led by Gian Piero Gasperini is unbeaten in 11 games against the away team, and they will try to maintain that record this weekend.
On Sunday (February 26), Atalanta suffered a 2-0 defeat to AC Milan, continuing their slide in Serie A. Gasperini’s team has lost four of their last five games, with the exception of a 2-0 victory over Lazio on February 11. Atalanta is sixth in the standings with 41 points from 24 games, four points behind the top four.
Udinese, on the other hand, couldn’t get their first win of the year last weekend when they played Spezia for a 2-2 draw at the Dacia Arena. The team led by Andrea Sottil has lost twice in their last five league games. With 31 focuses from 24 games, Udinese is 10th in the focuses table, level on focuses with 10th set Torino.

Despite Atalanta’s recent home form, they enter the weekend as clear favorites despite having lost steam in recent weeks. Gasperini’s team hasn’t lost to Udinese in ten games, so they should win this one and take all three points.
Prediction: Atalanta 3-1 Udinese
Atalanta has a slight advantage in this matchup thanks to their 16 victories over the previous 44 encounters. During that time, Udinese has only won once more, and 13 times, the spoils have been split. Since winning 2-1 in October 2017, Udinese has lost seven of their last ten games against Atalanta.
Despite losing four of their last five games, Atalanta has won four of their last five games at home since December. Since their January 1-0 defeat to Sampdoria, Udinese has lost two of their last five games.
Luis Muriel, a Colombian striker, has scored 12 Serie A goals against Udinese in the past, more than any other opponent. This week, Zapata is injured again, continuing a frustrating season for the striker. Ademola Lookman and Rasmus Hojlund are expected to start in front of the former Fruitland forward, who is, however, going through his longest run without scoring (eight) in the league since 2019.
The latter is the youngest player in Europe’s top five leagues to score five or more goals in 2023, but in his most recent game, he was stopped by Milan’s new defense and didn’t even try to shoot. Hans Hateboer will miss the rest of the season with a serious knee injury, and Giorgio Scalvini will be replaced in the hosts’ back three by Jose Luis Palomino because of his ankle problem.
Andrea Sottil, a former Atalanta defender, will make his latest return to Bergamo without Gerard Deulofeu and Enzo Ebosse. However, since Jaka Bijol is back from his suspension, he should immediately rejoin the Bianconeri’s defense, which was twice broken by Spezia last week.
Roberto Pereyra could move to the right flank with Kingsley Ehizibue serving a one-game suspension for accumulating bookings, giving Lazar Samardzic or Tolgay Arslan an opportunity in central midfield.
