ICC announces good news for cricket fans next year in 2022 Australia is going to host the T20 World Cup. From 17 Oct Oman and UAE are going to host this tournament.
In this year 2021, there is a total of 16 teams, and total they play 45 matches. On 14 Nov there is the final match of this World Cup.
West Indies is a former winner of this tournament, India starts its journey by playing against the most rival team Pakistan on 24 Oct.
The Men’s T20 World Cup Host In 2022
Firstly this tournament which is going on in UAE is going to start in Australia in 2020, due to COVID it is shifted to India and then it again gets rescheduled in UAE.
Now it is again going to host this glorified World Cup from 16 October – 13 November 2022.
The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 will feature 16 international teams playing 45 matches around Australia.
In Feb Australia hosted a record-breaking event which is of Women’s World Cup which was held from February – March 2020.
This country is the host which recorded the second-highest crowd ever recorded for a women’s sporting event globally.
Teams in Super 10
Just like another tournament, there are 12 teams each that directly get entry into Super 10. Afghanistan, England, India, New Zealand, Pakistan, South Africa, West Indies, and hosts Australia.
These 12 automatic qualifier teams, the winner and runner-up of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021, and the six highest rank teams will play directly in the Super 12 stage of Australia 2022.
According to the CEO of the Local Organizing Committee of the ICC T20 World Cup Michelle Enright,
“Hosting what will be the biggest sporting event in Australia next year can lift the nation’s spirits and the timing of the event could not be better for fans across the whole country to experience the joy of live sport again.”.
