Bayern Munich has performed well in their Champions League campaign thus far, winning four and losing only one of their five main draw matches. They showed their battling skills by coming from behind to defeat Rosengard and Benfica, but they couldn’t stop Barcelona from strolling to a 3-0 victory at Camp Nou.
However, Bayern earned a commanding 3-1 victory in the rematch to become the first side to defeat Barcelona in any tournament this season. Tainara, Sydney Lohmann, Georgia Stanway, and Julia Landenberger scored to help Alexander Straus’ team advance to the quarter-finals with a 4-0 win against Rosengard last week.

Benfica needs as many points as possible to keep their qualifying chances alive, and their three-point deficit to the top two is manageable.
They must, though, perform at their best against a Barcelona team eager to return to winning ways after losing to Bayern Munich last week.
Despite the disparity in quality between the two teams, Benfica are sure to fight all out for victory, but we believe the visitors will prevail in a high-scoring encounter.

Bayern has won all eight of their competitive home games this season, and we believe they will capitalise on their home edge when they meet Benfica on Wednesday.
