After a few days of action in Hobart and Canberra, the Big Bash League (BBL) 2020-21 will head to Launceston for a few days. The Aurora Stadium will host the eighth and ninth games of the BBL 2020-21 season. Due to travel constraints, Cricket Australia has forced to abandon the traditional home and away format for BBL 10. While some clubs will have the opportunity to play in front of their home supporters, several matches will take place in neutral grounds.

Pitch report

Last year, the Hobart Hurricanes played a handful of home games in Launceston. In the first game, the host team defeated the Melbourne Stars through D/L, while the Adelaide Strikers defeated the Hurricanes by 10 runs in the second.

Aurora Stadium’s pitch aided the batters and quick bowlers. Travis Head and David Miller both scored half-centuries for the Strikers against the Hurricanes. While for Adelaide, Wes Agar claimed four wickets.

In Launceston, the cricket world should expect a close battle between bat and ball.
