On Sunday, February 26, Inter Milan will face Bologna at the Renato Dall’Ara Stadium, marking their return to Serie A play. The team led by Simone Inzaghi will try to build on their first-leg victory over Porto in the UEFA Champions League last-16 matchup.
Last weekend, Bologna won again, beating Sampdoria 2-1 at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris. That was following their February 12 defeat to Monza, which ended their four-game winning streak in the league.
Bologna is eighth in the standings, level on points with Juventus, which is seventh, with 32 points from 23 games. After a narrow 1-0 victory over Porto in the first leg of their last-16 match in midweek, Inter is now in the UEFA Champions League quarterfinals.
The Nerazzurri are back in Serie A, where they are unbeaten in four games and have ten points from 12 games since their 1-0 loss to Empoli in January. Inter is 15 points behind Napoli, which is in the first place, with 47 points from 23 games.

Bologna is in good shape and will try to build on that. However, they will be up against a determined Inter team that has only lost once in 19 games since November. Inzaghi’s team should win all three points given the disparity in quality between the two teams.
Prediction: Bologna 1-3 Inter Milan
Inter have dominated the matchup, winning 29 of their last 43 meetings. Over the course of that time, Bologna has won seven games, splitting seven of those victories. Since February 2002, Inter has not lost a game in 15 of their last 16 trips to the Renato Dall’Ara Stadium, recording 12 victories and three draws.
Since opening the year with defeats to Roma and Atalanta, Bologna has won four of their last five Serie A games, going unbeaten in those contests. Inter have won five of their last six matches in all competitions, with the exception of a goalless draw against Sampdoria on February 13.
After suffering a muscle injury during the first half of Bologna’s match against Sampdoria, Stefan Posch is likely to miss the game. On Sunday, Giorgos Kyriakopoulos, who was brought in in his place, is expected to start at left-back, with Andrea Cambiaso moving to the opposite side.
The remainder of the starting lineup might remain the same due to Marko Arnautovic’s likely hip injury. After making an impact as a substitute in the Champions League, Lukaku may be reinstated in the Inter XI, possibly replacing Edin Dzeko.
Denzel Dumfries could replace Matteo Darmian at right wingback, and Marcelo Brozovic could also make a return for Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
