Beginning on January 5, 2023, the ninth Bangladesh Premier League will run through February 16, 2023. The league’s draft for the upcoming season took place on November 23. During the occasion, various conspicuous players changed groups and were added to the rundown of global players.
Mustafizur Rahman and Shakib Al Hasan, who play for the Fortune Barishal Victorians and Comilla Victorians, will keep playing for their teams. On the other hand, Tamim Iqbal, Nurul Hasan, Mashrafe Mortaza, and Nurul Hasan have all joined the Khulna Tigers, Sylhet Strikers, and Rangpur Riders, respectively. Mustafizur Rahman and Shakib Al Hasan will continue to play for their teams.
It is noteworthy that Unmukt Chand is the only Indian in the entire draft. The captain who won the U-19 World Cup in 2012 will become the first Indian to play in the BPL as a result of his deal with the Chattogram Challengers.
However, after signing a three-year contract with Major League Cricket (MLC) in the United States, Chand withdrew from Indian domestic cricket in 2022. It is illegal for cricketers under contract with the BCCI to play in international leagues.
