An entertaining cup contest can be expected in Scotland this weekend as League One Alloa Athletic faces a tricky test at Lowland League outfit Broomhill FC. While certainly favourites, the visitors should expect a tough test against a side with a strong home record which has seen them lose just 1 of their last 10 at Broadwood Stadium.
Without a win in four, Simon Ferry could also make some changes to his side, with the hosts crashing to a 4:0 loss on the road at Tranent Juniors. Former Rangers defender Kirk Broadfoot is a familiar face in the home sides’ defence, with the experienced former internationalist scoring 3 goals since his arrival from Inverness CT. Head Coach Brian Rice may make some changes to his side following the remarkable 4:3 loss at FC Edinburgh last time out. Alloa had led 3:0 after just 17 minutes.
These two teams didn’t meet in recent years, so we don’t really have any h2h data to help us make our next prediction. Despite that, we expect to see at least three goals in this match.
After all, we do expect the guests to win by two or more goals and while the home team is doing ok in their league this season, this will be a tough matchup for them. Also, Alloa Athletic is averaging 3.63 goals per game this season, which bodes well for our prediction.
