In the EFL Championship, Cardiff City will take on Blackpool at the Cardiff City Stadium on Saturday, December 17, with the goal of ending their winless streak. With 25 points from 22 games, the Bluebirds are 20th in the standings and have lost three league games.
After starting the season with two victories in their first three games, Cardiff’s manager Steve Morison was only fired once in their next seven games. The Welsh outfit went the following two months without a super durable mentor before Imprint Hudson was delegated on November 14. Cardiff City has only won four of their 11 games, drawing 2-2 with Stoke City in Hudson’s first game in charge.
Blackpool, on the other hand, is in a worse position right now, finishing second from bottom in the Championship with 23 points from 22 games and six wins. Michael Appleton has continued to lead the Tangerins despite their dismal record, but he is in jeopardy given that the team has lost four of their last five league games.

The goal for both teams, who have not won in their last few games, is to avoid defeat, which could result in a low-scoring draw.
Prediction: Cardiff 1-1 Blackpool
The two teams have met 73 times before, with Cardiff losing 34 times and Blackpool winning 18 times. Blackpool beat Cardiff for the first time in October 2014, winning the Championship by a score of 1-0. The Bluebirds have won two of their subsequent three matches since then.
After scoring 13 goals in October, Blackpool has scored just once in their next five games. Blackpool’s Jerry Yates has failed to score in his last five league games after striking seven times in the previous five. Cardiff and Blackpool played out a 1-1 draw in their last meeting in February 2022. Only Preston (7) and Wigan Athletic (8) have scored fewer goals at home this season.
