Breaking News! Former Barcelona, Arsenal, and Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas has announced his retirement from football at the age of 36.
As we have known, Fabregas made 110 caps for Spain in an international career that helped them win back-to-back European Championships and World Cups in between those successes. The Spaniard began his career at Barcelona’s La Masia but made his professional debut for Arsenal aged 16 and spent eight seasons in north London before returning to Catalonia.
Although in 2005, Cesc won the FA Cup with the Gunners and started the season in a 2-1 loss to Barcelona in the Champions League final. However, in 2011, Cesc returned to Barcelona and spent three years at Camp Nou before joining Chelsea. Fabregas then returned to the Premier League with Chelsea and won the title twice, firstly with José Mourinho and then with Antonio Conte. He also won the FA Cup and the League Cup for the Blues.

Furthermore, Cesc Fabregas spent his last season as a professional footballer with Italian second-division team Como, wrote on social media: “It is with great sadness that I announce my retirement, but the time has come.” “I will cherish every moment from my early days at Barcelona, Arsenal, Blaugrana, Chelsea, Monaco, and finally, Como. From the World Cup to the Euro, winning in England, and Spain, winning European trophies – it was a journey I will never forget”.
Fabregas will now assume the role of coach alongside Como. And he added: “I’m not sad because I’m about to embark on a new path: coaching the B team and Primavera team of Como 1907. A club and a project that can’t excite me more. This team has conquered my heart.”
He also said that: “I’m very excited about the club and project, and this exciting soccer team captivated my heart from the first minute and came to me at the perfect moment in my career.
