Ciro Immobile’s first-half goal in the first leg at the Stadio Olimpico last week secured a 1-0 victory for ten-man Lazio, who had Patrick sent off in the 13th minute.
On Sunday (February 19), Cluj ended their three-game losing streak by defeating Arges Pitesti 3-1 at home in Liga I. On the other hand, Immobile’s second-half brace helped Lazio defeat Salernitana 2-0 away in Serie A, making it two wins in a row overall.
In Cluj’s victory over Arges Pitesi last weekend, Ciprian Deac, a veteran winger, increased his season total to six goals and 11 assists. On Thursday, he is expected to play a significant role in the forward line.
Even though Cephas Malele and Rangelo Janga started in the attack for Cluj over the weekend, Daniel Birligea and Emmanuel Yeboah, who started the first leg, are expected to return to the team.
Since Patric, the Spanish defender, was sent off in the first leg, Lazio will have to make do without him on Thursday.
After losing to Farul Constanța 2-0 in their previous Liga I match, Petrolul Ploieşti will be hoping for a better outcome.
Petrolul Ploieşti had 45 percent possession and seven attempts on goal, three of which were successful. Farul Constanța had 18 shots on goal, six of which were successful. Louis Munteanu (28′) and Denis Alibec (57′) scored for Farul Constanța.
Cluj will enter the match having defeated Argeș Pitești 3-1 in their most recent match in Liga I.
Ciprian Deac (2′), Rangelo Janga (25′), Denis Kolinger (61′ Own Goal), and Ermal Krasniqi (90′) scored goals for CFR Cluj.
Since the Eagles are still without the injured defensive duo of Alessio Romagnoli and Stefan Radu, Mario Gila is likely to take Patric’s place in the starting XI.
Sergej Milinkovic-Savic was an unused substitute in Lazio’s triumph over Salernitana last break, so the powerful midfielder is supposed to get back to the beginning setup this week.
Luis Maximiano, who played in the first leg, should start in goal for the visitors. Ivan Provedel, who kept a clean sheet over the weekend, will sit out the game.

Despite their inconsistent recent performances, the hosts defeated Cluj 2-1 at home in the Europa League in 2019.
Lazio, on the other hand, have won consecutive games without conceding after a four-game losing streak. The team of Maurizio Sarri may choose to take a defensive stance. Taking that into consideration, Lazio could win the game overall and share the spoils.
Prediction: CFR Cluj 1-1 Lazio
Since 2019, the two teams have met three times in different competitions, two of those encounters taking place in the Europa League group stage during the 2019-20 season. Lazio currently leads by a score of 2-1 after all three meetings. In their Europa League away games, Lazio failed to score in two of their three outings. In their Europa Conference League home games, Cluj only lost one game but won the other two and kept a clean sheet.
Lazio have seen under 2.5 objectives in their last six games across contests, while four of the last five games for Cluj have seen under 2.5 objectives.
The hosts have failed to score in three of their last four matches across all competitions. Lazio has failed to score in two of their last five games, losing two of those matches.
