Child sports need reset: they are pushed to professionalism too soon

Child sports need reset: they are pushed to professionalism too soon : After the Covid-19 outbreak, the world of youth sports has been completely disarrayed. Many sports leagues around the World are on hold, many are resuming with different formats and scenarios and many are already postponed or canceled. Young athletes are forced to adopt professionalism too early in their field. They are forced to reduce a certain amount of time they spend while playing and put these activities on hold indefinitely. This has created a feeling of frustration, anxiety, and stress.

In the last few years, the development of the youth sports industry has accelerated. This Rapid expansion has intensified the pressure of sports on parents. To increase the investment of money, time, and energy in their children’s athletic careers. According to the reports, the youth sports industry has increased by 55% from 2010 to 17. The industry constitutes a $19 billion market and it is expected to climb 27.6 billion by 2026.

The child leads face the race to the top

The expansion of the commercialization of child sports has made parents more invested. They are challenged to push their child for the top positions in their athletic field. Due to the huge advantage of money and fame after success in a sports career. Parents are pushing the child to competitive tournaments.

They feel the pressure. This has led children to private coaching sessions so that they play well. The longer the children play the sport the stronger they can become and the Great. The race to the top for youth sometimes has no endpoint. That is the case with the majority of young athletes. They are studying and playing endlessly to professionalize their athletic career as soon as possible.

Parents want children to professionalize and specialize in one particular sport. This can have a harmful effect on their psychological and Physical health. As not all children are able to handle the pressure of that field as adults. Parents should give a pause to their children rather than push them too early professionalism.

Give them some time to get into that sport at their own pace and explore their life in other aspects as well. Parents need to learn how the children can manage their other activities and the sport they want their children to take up. However, this pandemic outbreak has halted sports activities. We are slowly coming back to the tournament and the exposure that was provided earlier.
