    Indian women’s cricket team got defeated in the first match of women’s cricket in the Commonwealth Games history. AUS W beat IND W by 3 wickets in the encounter played yesterday in Birmingham. It was a thriller clash between two teams. The women in blue lost the game from a match-winning position. IND W had scored 154 runs after winning the toss. captain Harmanpreet has scored the first half century of the commonwealth Games.

    Indian contingent got off to a good start on the first day of the 22nd Commonwealth Games. In boxing, Indian experienced boxer Shiv Thapa defeated his Pakistani opponent. India also defeated Pakistan in the mixed team event of badminton sports. In women’s hockey, the women in blue defeated Ghana by a huge margin of 5-0 in the first match. However, there were expectations of a little more margin win from Indian women against Ghana.

    AUS W won the match by 3 wickets

    Australian women had a very bad start in the second innings. Team AUS W lost their 5 wickets at the score of only 49 runs. At that time it was looking India will win the match easily. But then the Australian player Ashleigh Gardner and Grace Harris played a game-changing inning and turned the game completely. Gardner scored 52 runs in just 35 balls. While Harris scored 37 runs in only 20 balls. Renuka Singh from India took the highest 4 wickets from the Indian team.

    Indian captain Harmanpreet Kaur creates the history in Commonwealth Games. Harman scored the first half-century of the Commonwealth Games. Remembering women’s cricket is playing first time in the CWG this year. The Indian skipper scored brilliant 52 runs in just 34 balls. She helped to take the team score to 154 runs.

    India missed the Pooja Vastrakar

    Indian young all-rounder Pooja has not played 1st match of the Commonwealth Games 2022. She was unable to play in today’s match due to being Covid-19. Pooja has been in very good form recently and is the only fast bowling all-rounder in the Indian team. India is playing with a less pacer in the match due to her unavailability.

Women’s crickets are playing for the first time in the history of the Commonwealth Games this year.

    Total of 8 cricketing playing nations participating in the cricket sports here in Birmingham. The Indian Women’s cricket team is playing their opening match against World Champion Australia in the Commonwealth Games 2022. Cricket is going back in the CWG. The women’s cricket is going to participate first time in the event.
