The two unbeaten teams in the competition met in a matchup. At the Dr. DY Patil Sports Academy, the cricket community anticipated a close match between DC and MI, but the Mumbai-based franchise prevailed comfortably by eight wickets.

Meg Lanning, the captain of the Delhi Capitals, won the toss and chose to bat first. Her team was not helped by the decision, as MI bowled DC out for just 105 runs. For DC, Captain Lanning battled alone, scoring 43 runs off 41 deliveries. None of the other DC batters were able to score more than 30 runs.
The Mumbai Indians’ Issy Wong, Saika Ishaque, and Hayley Matthews each took three wickets. With figures of 3/10 in four overs, Wong emerged as the best bowler.

Mumbai Indians breezed to victory in the match, aiming for a modest total of 106 runs. Yastika Bhatia is top-scored for the establishment with a 32-ball 41. Nat Sciver-Brunt and Harmanpreet Kaur completed the formalities with their unbeaten partnership of 31 runs, and Hayley Matthews provided support for her by scoring 32 runs.

Fans of the Mumbai Indians and their team had an unforgettable evening. The battle between DC and MI shattered a number of records. Three of those records are listed in this list.

The Delhi Capitals played poorly against the Mumbai Indians. DC set a new record for the lowest first-inning total by a team in WPL 2023 by only scoring 105 runs.

The previous record for Royal Challengers Bangalore’s match against the Mumbai Indians was 155 runs. The Gujarat Giants hold the record for the lowest combined total of two innings.

#2 Mumbai Indians create a new WPL 2023 record

Mumbai Indians have established a new WPL 2023 record for the most victories by a single team. After defeating the Delhi Capitals last night, the franchise with its headquarters in Mumbai became the first team in the tournament to win three games.

With two victories from three matches, DC are the next team in the standings. Royal Challengers Bangalore is last with three losses from three matches, while UP Warriorz and Gujarat Giants have each won one match.

Issy Wong beat Saika Ishaque’s record with a spell of 3/10 against the Delhi Capitals last night. In the face of the right-arm fast-medium bowler, it was difficult for any DC batter to score runs. In yesterday’s match, her economy rate was 2.5 runs per over.

In the Women’s Premier League as a whole, Wong has an economy rate of 3.88. She broke Saika Ishaque’s record for the most reduced economy rate in WPL matches.
Ishaque has an economic rate of 4.91. In her three-over spell last night against the Delhi Capitals, she returned with figures of 3/13.
