On Thursday, Dnipro-1 and AEK Larnaca will compete for a spot in the round of 16 of the UEFA Europa Conference League.
Larnaca won the first leg 1-0 at home thanks to the match-winning goal from Spanish forward Angel Garcia six minutes later. The goal gave the Cypriot team a slight advantage in their playoff match in the UEFA Conference League.
In the Cypriot League, Larnaca lost to AEL Limassol 2-1 after their continental victory. Saido Berahino and Alexander Kacaniklic scored for the hosts in the first half, and Ivan Trickovski scored from the penalty spot to cut the deficit in half.
In the second leg, Dnipro will attempt to make up the deficit. However, due to the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, the match will be played at a neutral location in Slovakia.
After their excellent performance in Cyprus, Dnipro-1 should use the same starting lineup as last week. Artem Dovbyk will continue to lead the team because he has scored a team-high 16 goals this season, five of which came in the Conference League group stage.
Oleksandr Pikhalyonok, who plays advanced midfield and has contributed seven goals and six assists so far this season in the league and continental play, will provide him with support.
Oleksiy Gutsulyak and newcomer Peglow will likely continue to play on the wings, and Ruslan Babenko and Valentyn Rubchynskyi will continue to work together at the midfield base.
Omri Altman, AEK Larnaca’s leading scorer, is expected to remain sidelined, missing their last three league games and the first leg last week due to injury. In his absence, Rafael Lopes is expected to continue leading the team.
Ivan Trickovski is likely to complete the trio in support of the lone frontman, and Imad Faraj and Marin Jakolis could continue to operate as wings.
Gus Ledes and Pere Pons will once again provide quality in the middle of the field, and Hrvoje Milicevic and Nenad Tomovic, who has been a mainstay in defense, will keep working together in the middle of a back four.

They lose home advantage because Dnipro will host the match on neutral ground, and the Ukrainians also showed signs of match rustiness in the first leg. Since November of last year, they have played a lot of friendlies, and the first leg last week was their first competitive game in three months.
For their game this weekend, AEK Larnaca named a team with a lot of changes, showing how many coaches Jose Oltra valued their European campaign. The Cypriot team is well-positioned to continue their winning streak as they compete in the continent’s knockout rounds for the first time.
We are betting on a low-scoring draw because the tie is still in a delicate balance.
Prediction: Dnipro-1 1-1 AEK Larnaca
The two sides will meet for the fourth time. In the three previous matches, AEK Larnaca prevailed 6-1 overall.
In the UEFA Europa League qualifiers earlier this year, the two teams met, and Larnaca won 5-1 overall to advance. The defeat to Limassol by AEK Larnaca ended their domestic 15-game winning streak. Since the middle of November, Dnipro-1 has only competed in one game.
In their last seven European away games, AEK Larnaca has won just two. Both games were played against Ukrainian opponents in Poland and Slovakia.
Goals from both ends have been scored in Larnaca’s last four games across all competitions. Their home victory over Dnipro last week was the only game to deviate from the norm. Artem Dovbyk, a forward for Dnipro, scored the most goals (five) in the UECL group stage.
