During a 2016 Asia Cup match against India, UAE was restricted to 81/9 in 20 overs. Shaiman Anwar scored 43 runs. He became the team’s top run-getter. Bhuvneshwar Kumar from the Indian team finished as the top wicket-taker in the game. Kumar successfully grabbed two wickets for eight runs.
India emerged victorious in the match by nine wickets. They chased a target of 82 in61 deliveries, i.e., 10.1 overs.

The lowest T20I team score of UAE in the Asia Cup came six days after they were all out for 82 runs by Bangladesh.
The Bangladesh quartet of Mustafizur Rahman, Mashrafe Mortaza, Shakib Al Hasan, and Mahmudullah took two wickets each. They guided the hosts to a 51-run victory. The team posted 133 runs on the scoreboard in the first innings.
Pakistan (83 all out against India, 2016), Oman (101/8 against UAE, 2016) and Hong Kong (112 all out against Afghanistan, 2016) complete the top five lowest totals in Asia Cup for T20 International matches.
