In the last 16 of the 2022-23 DFB Pokal, Eintracht Frankfurt will play Darmstadt at Deutsche Bank Park on Tuesday, February 7. In August, the hosts defeated Magdeburg 4-0 to begin their cup campaign. Three different players scored, including Daichi Kamada, who scored twice.
In the subsequent round, Frankfurt defeated Stuttgarter Kickers 2-0 thanks to goals from Randal Kolo Muani and Hrvoje Smolcic in the first half. Frankfurt has won the domestic cup five times, the most recent victory coming in 2017-18. However, they have had trouble competing since then.
In contrast, Darmstadt prevailed 3-0 over Ingolstadt in the opening round. After that, they defeated Borussia Monchengladbach of the Bundesliga with a 2-1 victory, scoring goals from Phillip Tietz and Aaron Seydel. Darmstadt will now face another top-tier team to see how strong they are.

Frankfurt has won five of their last eight matches, drawing three, and is unbeaten overall. They will be excited about their chances here, as they have won five of their last six home games. Darmstadt, on the other hand, is also doing well right now, having only lost one game all season.
They’ve been good on the road this season, but they could lose too much stronger opponents.
Prediction: Eintracht Frankfurt 2-0 Darmstadt
Frankfurt and Darmstadt will meet for the fifth time on Tuesday. The Eagles have won both of their previous matches, winning the most recent one 2-0. In their last five competitive games, the visitors have kept four clean sheets. Frankfurt has lost three of its four league games this season at home.
Darmstadt has allowed just 15 goals this season, making them the best defensive team in the second division of Germany. This season, the hosts have scored 40 Bundesliga goals. More goals have been scored than Bayern Munich, league leaders with 52.
Die Lilien has kept eight league clean sheets this season, which is Paderborn’s and Die Lilien’s joint-highest total in the division.
Faride Alidou and Jens Grahl are doubts, and Frankfurt will remain without Eric Dina Ebimbe, whose ankle injury is likely to keep him out until early April. After only making an appearance from the bench against Hertha over the weekend, Sebastian Rode, Kristijan Jakic, and Rafael Santos Borre are all likely to start for Glasner in this match.
Patric Pfeiffer, Matthias Bader, Klaus Gjasula, and Aaron Seydel are all expected to remain sidelined for at least a few more weeks when Darmstadt travels. With a five-day gap between their next match against his former club Eintracht Braunschweig and their last league match against Sandhausen, Lieberkecht may see no reason to change a winning team.
