On Thursday, January 12, Feyenoord and Zwolle will face off in the second round of the KNVB Beker.
In the Eredivisie, the hosts just played Utrecht to a 1-1 draw. In the 90th minute, Alireza Jahanbaksh equalized for Feyenoord, canceling out Jens Toornstra’s first-half goal against his former team.
The Rotterdam team remained at the top of the standings despite the draw, losing points to all of their closest rivals.
In the meantime, Zwolle won the Eerste Division title with a 3-2 comeback victory over Almere City at home. After the visitors were reduced to ten men, Apostolos Vellios came off the bench and scored the winner with four minutes left. They remained in second place in the standings after the victory.
Now, both teams will concentrate on the cup, where they will try to advance to the next round.

Zwolle, who has performed admirably in the Eerste Division, stands a good chance of returning to the Eredivisie right away. However, given that Feyenoord is the overwhelming favorite to advance to the next round, their chances of winning the cup are extremely slim.
Following the weekend’s league draw, the hosts will be eager to resume winning ways. With goals coming from both ends, Feyenoord should comfortably win.
Prediction: Feyenoord 4-1 Zwolle
In their last 26 games against Zwolle, Feyenoord has won 19. Zwolle has won five games, with two games ending in a draw.
Feyenoord won their most recent meeting in March 2022 with a 2-1 comeback victory on the road. In their last six encounters with Zwolle, the hosts have prevailed.
Seven of Feyenoord’s ten home games this season have been victories, and they have not lost.
