FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup Costa Rica 2022™

FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup Costa Rica 2022™. Women under the age of 20 compete in an international football tournament known as the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup. With a maximum age of 19, FIFA created the competition in 2002 and it became known as the FIFA U-19 Women’s World Championship. The legal drinking age was raised from 18 to 20 as a result of legislation enacted in 2006.

It was rebranded as a World Cup prior to the 2008 edition to ensure that the name was compatible with the other global events conducted by FIFA for national teams. FIFA’s U-20 Women’s World Cup has been staged in the country selected to host the Women’s World Cup since its first event in 2010 to act as a warm-up event.

    Teams

There are a total of 16 teams that can make it to the championship game. In addition to the hosts, 15 teams from six continents qualified for the tournament (Asia, Africa, South America, North America, Oceania, and Europe). The FIFA Council approves the allotment of slots before the regional qualifiers.

In the group stage, each team competes in three games. If you win, you get four points, and if you lose, you get one point. The winners and losers of each group advance to the knockout phase, which includes the quarterfinals, semis, and final. Those who lost in the semi-finals face off in a third-place playoff match.
