FIH Current Men’s and Women’s World Ranking.A new concept for the World Ranking was finally implemented on January 1, 2020, after going through a lengthy testing phase and receiving permission from the FIH Executive Board. In place of the existing ranking system, which was based on tournaments, the new system, which will be based on matches, will feature an exchange of points between the two teams fighting against one another in each match that is played. The number of points that will be awarded to each side will be determined by the outcome of the game, as well as the relative standings of both teams and the significance of the contest.
