This year, the ISSF World Cup will come to a close with the competition in Changwon, which will take place just before the ISSF World Championships in September and October. More than 30 Indian shooters will compete in the various shooting disciplines, including rifle, pistol, and shotgun.

At this year’s Shooting World Cup, in addition to individual categories, there will also be team competitions and mixed events.

    Games

The Youth Olympic Games winner Manu Bhaker will be shooting in the 10-meter and 25-meter pistol disciplines that she enjoys the most. When it comes to the shotgun skeet competition, India’s greatest hope will be Mairaj Ahmad Khan.

The Indian rifle shooters who will be competing at the Changwon International Shooting Range will also be expected to perform exceptionally well.

Olympic competitors Chain Singh, Sanjeev Rajput, and Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar have been chosen to compete in the men’s 50-meter rifle three-positions event. Olympian Anjum Moudgil, who competed in Tokyo, has been selected to compete in the third position in the women’s 50-meter rifle event.

Anjum Moudgil achieved second place in the women’s individual competition in the ISSF World Cup, which took place in Baku a month ago. In Baku, Ashi Chouksey and Swapnil Kusale won the gold medal in the mixed team competition for the 50-meter rifle three positions, and they will both be competing for India in this competition.

Some of the other established shooters on the Indian team include Commonwealth Games gold medalist Anish Bhanwala in the men’s pistol competition, world junior championships silver medallist Esha Singh in the women’s pistol competition, and former junior world champion Elavenil Valarivan in the women’s rifle competition.

Rahi Sarnobat, the defending champion of the Asian Games, decided against competing in the event owing to health concerns.

In Changwon, there will be a total of thirty gold medals up for grabs, and they will be distributed throughout the rifle, pistol, and shotgun competitions. There will be more than 432 competitors competing in South Korea, representing 44 different countries.

After competing in the previous stage of the combined World Cup in Baku, Azerbaijan, India came away with two gold and three silver medals.

India is now in fifth place in the overall 2022 standings, with four golds, three silvers, and two bronzes to its name. Germany is now in the first place, having won a total of 18 medals, including nine gold, six silver, and four bronze.

The final day of the ISSF World Cup in Changwon will take place on July 20.
