FC Goa has enjoyed a great deal of success since its inception in 2014. In the club’s first season in the ISL. they reached the semi-finals before being eliminated by Chennaiyin FC. In the 2015 season. FC Goa made it all the way to the final. where they faced Chennaiyin FC again. Despite a valiant effort. FC Goa was unable to overcome Chennaiyin and lost 3-2 in the final.

However. the club bounced back in the 2016 season. finishing in first place in the league stage and advancing to the final once again. This time. FC Goa was victorious. defeating Kerala Blasters 4-3 on penalties to win the ISL championship.
