Roger Binny the new president of BCCI speaks about the recent controversy of India visiting to Pakistan for the Asia Cup. He says that such decisions lie in the hands of the government and not the BCCI.
It is the Indian government that will be deciding whether India visits Pakistan or not to play Asia Cup. He releases his statement while speaking at the event that is organised by Karnataka State Cricket Association. At which he says that Binny BCCI is yet to approach the government.
After doing so, the central government will be taking the decision if India travels or not to Pakistan. He says that this is not the call of BCCI they will be needing government clearance before leaving the country.
Government Takes a call on India’s Visit to Pakistan and not BCCI
It is the government that gives clearance if we leave the nation or another team enters the nation. Adding further he says, that once they get clearance from the government they are free to take the decision of their own.
They are relying on the government to get the decision for the same. He also states that they cannot approach the government yet on the same.
Binny takes up the position of President of BCCI recently here he states about the recent takes of India visiting Pakistan for the cup.
It’s Jay Shah who spoke about India playing the fixture at the neutral venue however, Pakistan responds to it.
They threatened to pull out of the Asia Cup if India is not playing the fixture in Pakistan for the cup.
However, Binny adds the decision lies in the hands of the government and not the BCCI to decide if India travels or not.
There has been a lot till now on deciding if India travel to Pakistan for the cup. The cup is set to take off soon this season in 2023.
