Gujrat Giants won the face-off with UP Yodhas on 19 October. Captian Chandran Ranjit scored 20 points to lead Gujrat Giants from the front to defeat UP Yoddhas 51-45 in the Vivo pro kabaddi league season 9 at Shree Kanteerawa Indoor Stadium in Bengaluru on 19 October.
Raider Rakesh supported Ranjit as his fellow player by scoring 16 points in the match. In the first five minutes of the match, Chandran stepped up with a couple of raids for Gujarat, but Gill on the other side also picked up raids for the UP Yodhas as both sides traded points initially.
However, in the ninth minute of the match, Pradeep Narwal gives a super raid to help the odds take the lead 10-7. But Ranjit came back with effected and fantastic raid and helped his side to regain the lead with 12-11.
In the neck-to-neck competition, the odds did all out in the 12th minute and attained a stronghold of the match at 16-14. At the score of 19-15, strong defenders like Ashu Singh and Sumit also joined the game. On the other side Ranjit and Rakesh pulled off the raid for Gujarat Giants, still, the odds continued the lead to stay ahead in a match at 21-19 at the end of the first half of the match.
In the second half of the match, the Giants showed more determination and inflicted an ALL-OUT in the starting minutes to build the lead at 25-23. Moments later, a super raid is provided by Ranjit who reduced the Yoddhas to three players on the mat. Gujarat kept on performing outstanding and did one more ALL OUT in the 28th minute to take the lead of 37-29. Raider Rakesh continued to showcase top form as the giants stayed in the lead at 42-35 in the 35th minute of the enthusiastic match. Finally, all these efforts lead to a win for Gujarat Giants.
