Gurjit Kaur promised on the eve of the FIH Women’s Hockey World Cup 2022 to give the best. The Women’s Hockey World Cup 2022 is knocking at the door, and this time the Netherlands and Spain will host the tournament jointly. India is in Pool B and will play their first match on the 3rd of July against England.
India’s Women’s Hockey Team captain and Goalkeeper, Savitha, and defender Gurjit Kaur are in full belief that their team will manage this time for a podium finish.
While asking about the ambiance of the tournament and Indian Camp, Gurjit Kaur replied that all team members of the Indian team, are extremely thrilled about the recent tournament. She also added that she wants to cherish every moment and all members are also overwhelmed to be a part of this tournament.
She mentioned that at present, the Indian Women’s hockey team made notable advancements in various aspects since Tokyo Olympic 2020. As per Gurjit, despite winning a medal, the team also performed well in Tokyo Olympics, but this time she is confirmed to get a medal.
Gurjit has mentioned that the team has already played many international tournaments. They have competed in the FIH Hockey Women’s Pro League. So, she and her team members hope, that the experiences they gathered from these tournaments will help them win a medal in World Cup.
As per Gurjit, all the Indian Women’s Hockey team players are putting a lot of effort into training because all are focused on getting a medal for the country this time. All the players are determined to do everything to finish on the podium this time.
The matches of the Women’s Hockey Team, are scheduled on July 3rd, July 4, and July 7 against England, China, and New Zealand, respectively. All the matches will be live on star Sports along with Disney Hotstar.
