The second match in the three-match T20I series between Zimbabwe and Ireland is scheduled for Saturday, January 14. The match will take place at the Harare Sports Club. Craig Ervine led Zimbabwe, which made an impressive start to the series. In the first match, they defeated Ireland by five wickets to take a crucial 1-0 lead.
The hosts restricted Andrew Balbirnie and co. to 114 runs in 19.2 overs after deciding to field first. The Zimbabwean bowler of choice was Ryan Burl, who returned with impressive figures of 3/29. Richard Ngarava, Wellington Masakadza, and Tendai Chatara each took two wickets. Ireland’s leading scorer was Gareth Delany, who finished with 24 points out of 20.
After both their opening batters, Ervine and Tadiwanashe Marumani, failed to get going, Zimbabwe struggled early in their run chase. However, Wesley Madhevere and Gary Ballance’s 35-run stand brought order to the game. Before getting out, Madhevere scored 16 points out of 22, including one four.
Before Mark Adair dismissed debutant Ballance, he scored 30 points out of 29. Clive Madande’s 10-ball 18 and Sean Williams’ unbeaten 30-ball 34 ultimately assisted Zimbabwe in reaching its goal with 12 balls remaining.

In the first match of the series, Zimbabwe clearly appeared to be the better team. Ireland did not perform at their best when some of their key players were absent. The odds favor Zimbabwe going into the following match.
Prediction: Zimbabwe to win.
In the previous game, the pitch in Harare was difficult to bat on. Making runs wasn’t that easy. Additionally, it is not anticipated that the subsequent game will be high-scoring. The best course of action should be to win the toss and field first.
With temperatures hovering around the 25-degree Celsius mark, playing conditions will be pleasant. The humidity will be around 50 percent. Rain has no chance of spoiling the party.
Not the desired result, but we didn't go down without a fight. We go again tomorrow!#ZIMvIRE | #BackingGreen ☘️🏏
