High school volleyball: 5 players to watch: Volleyball remains one of Holland’s most popular sports. Several clubs are always in a position to make deep playoff runs, and in recent years, volleyball has seen the rise of extraordinary star power.
The local volleyball courts have traditionally been patrolled by All-State selections and Miss Volleyball Finalists, and this year’s competition is expected to be no different.
Here are five of the season’s most intriguing volleyball players:
Katie Carlson
NET WORTH LAST YEAR: OK Green All-Conference honors. 272 kills, 309 digs, 45 aces, and 35 blocks were recorded as a team total.
Carlson, according to the scouting report, is a formidable athlete. Her athleticism, which she displays often across numerous sports, is undeniable. She is a vital cog in the machine, able to both hammer home a kill and make a dig in the back row to keep the action moving. The Chix will need her to take on a greater offensive leadership role this year.

Based on her scouting report, Hescott is considered to be one of the best blockers in all of West Michigan. She’ll keep being a physical fortress in the backline. Hescott has the potential to be one of the finest players in the area if she continues to hone her already potent offensive game.
THE COACH’S PERSPECTIVE ON LAST SEASON: “She has a great vertical leap and is very agile as an athlete. She was the one who directed our blocking efforts and spearheaded our effective inside attacks. Jeralyn Hoppes
NET WORTH LAST YEAR: OK Blue first-team all-conference. had 214 kills, 314 digs, and 32 service aces in total.
SCOUTING REPORT: Hoppes, a versatile athlete with exceptional vertical leap, may be the most athletic player on the squad. In the hurdles, it helped her qualify for state, and in volleyball, it made her an unstoppable force. As she develops into one of West Michigan’s top players, she provides the Hawkeyes with vigour, attacking firepower, and defensive consistency.

Avery Huisman
NET WORTH LAST YEAR:: Recognized as an all-conference performer in the OK Blue, as well as all-region and all-state honourable mention. 226 kills, 69 blocks, 65 aces, and 299 digs were recorded in total.
SCOUTING REPORT: Huisman went from decent to great in a single season. She was already a formidable opponent, but she upgraded her game to make herself an even greater danger. This change was most noticeable on defence, where she had nearly 300 digs and nearly 70 blocks. She will no longer be a hidden weapon. The spotlight will be on her, and she will have no choice but to step up her already impressive performance.
THE COACH’S PERSPECTIVE ON LAST SEASON: “Avery’s contributions as a six-hole batter have been invaluable. She can be a speedy and nimble defender in the back row, or a cunning playmaker in the front. Our offence was bolstered by the fact that we were now able to employ her even when she was in the back row. Raegan Lantz
NET WORTH LAST YEAR: All-OK Green Conference, All-Region, and Class A Honorable Mention. recorded a 404-kill, 147-dig, 149-block, 29-ace performance.
SCOUTING REPORT: As a whole, Lantz was an unbeatable force in the previous year. She improved so much that she is now considered one of the greatest in the state. Even though she competed in the OK Red, the state’s most difficult conference, several nationally ranked opponents still couldn’t stop her from scoring.
She developed into more than just a star player, but a crucial cog in the machine. She is a dedicated volleyball player for the Mid-American Conference powerhouse Miami (Ohio) University. Numerous “ones to watch” have included Lantz on their rosters.
