    ISL News:

For Chennaiyin FC, the 2023–24 Indian Super League (ISL) season carries potential as the Marina Machans enter a new era under the guidance of Owen Coyle. The two-time ISL Cup champions, who have now ended in eighth position for three straight seasons, have not lived up to their customary standards over the previous three seasons. Under Owen Coyle’s leadership, Chennaiyin FC last advanced to the postseason in the 2019–20 campaign. The Marina Machans couldn’t capitalize on their strength last season, despite showing glimmers of it. Although they played well in the attacking third, one of the key factors in their failure was star player injuries at critical points in the season. With the Scotsman back in charge, everyone at Chennaiyin FC is hoping to build on their success from last season and repeat their feats this year. Coyle is familiar with the area, but he will definitely need more time to develop Chennaiyin FC’s varied pool of potential.
