Mikel Arteta is a Spanish professional football manager and former player who is currently in charge of Arsenal, a Premier League club.
He was hired by Manchester City as Pep Guardiola’s assistant coach after retiring. He returned to Arsenal in 2019 as head coach, where he won the FA Cup in his first year. In September 2020, his title was changed to the manager to reflect his larger role at the club.
On August 31, 2011, Arteta agreed to a four-year contract with Arsenal for a reported fee of £10 million. He made his Arsenal debut on September 10 in a 1–0 home victory over Swansea City[27], and he scored his first Premier League goal in a 4–3 defeat at Ewood Park against Blackburn Rovers.
