“Never Had An Open And Honest Answer”: Adam Gilchrist On Indians Not Playing Foreign Leagues

“Never Had An Open And Honest Answer”:On Thursday, the legendary wicketkeeper Adam Gilchrist indicated that he wants the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to allow Indian cricket players to compete in Twenty20 competitions. And, that are based in countries other than India.

To ensure the continued success of the Indian Premier League (IPL), the BCCI does not currently allow Indian players to compete in Twenty20 leagues held in other countries, such as Australia’s Big Bash League.

“It will be excellent (if the Indian players are permitted to play in overseas T20 competitions), and in my opinion, it won’t degrade the IPL in any way; rather, it will only help them expand as a brand,” said the Indian cricket commissioner. If they (Indian players) are able to play in Australia or South Africa, Gilchrist said to the media that they should do so.

“But the difficulty is that we are all playing our domestic seasons at the same time, so that is a difficult thing, isn’t it?” he said. “But it is a hard thing, isn’t it?”

Gilchrist made this remark a day after he had some doubts about the growing influence of the teams competing in the Indian Premier League (IPL) in international cricket.

Nevertheless, the three-time World Cup champion insisted that he did not oppose what is widely considered to be the most popular T20 league in the world.

“I’m not trying to bash the Indian Premier League (IPL), but I don’t understand why Indian players don’t participate in the Big Bash League. Why do some leagues have access to every player in the world? “

“This is a question to which I have never received an open and honest answer.” There is not a single Indian player competing in any of the other T20 leagues. He inquired, “I am not expressing this in an intentionally offensive manner; nonetheless, is that a legitimate question?”

“I really want to emphasize that during the six seasons that I played in the Indian Premier League, I had a great time. It was a very enjoyable adventure. Although it is the most important Twenty20 competition in the world, it is essential that other boards and countries be given the opportunity to thrive as well, he continued.

Need to be a person who has been affected by Rishabh Pant.

Rishabh Pant, the wicket-keeper batsman for India, has been hailed by Gilchrist for his swashbuckling play, and Gilchrist has urged the Indian board to be patient with Pant when things don’t go as planned.

“I believe he simply lights up a stage and produces an electric environment when he is playing, and that is amazing,” Gilchrist observed in reference to Pant. “He (Pant) is one of the most exciting cricketers to watch,” Gilchrist added.

“The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), the management, and the selectors will just need to have patience with him. If he goes a few innings without scoring, the coaches shouldn’t be too hard on him since you don’t want to stifle his natural flare, he added.
