Nitish Rana hoping to play for India Soon : Nitish Rana who plays for Kolkata Knight Riders as middle order batsman hopes to play for India once again. The left-handed batsman made his debut for India in 2021 against Sri Lanka under Shikhar Dhawan’s captaincy.
During his debut series, he played 2 T20 and 1 ODI against Sri Lanka. However, he could only make moderate runs which weren’t enough to get a call-up for team India again. However, Nitish Rana refuses to give up and wants to remain optimistic.

In a conversation with the media, Nitish Rana expressed his wish to play for India once again and that is what he dreams of. He said ” As a cricketer, I would like to have another opportunity, but also would not give any excuses, since I did not play well.
I want to score more than 500 runs, so Indian Team selectors cannot ignore me. The only things that are in my control are to give a good performance, play well, score as many runs, and I’m trying to make improvements there.
I hope to score more runs in the upcoming season, but everything is not in my hands. So, I want to give my best on the field and that’s all. I will give my best wherever and whenever I will perform.
He further added ” If people are not selected even after making 400 runs, then I have to make 600, I understand that. The future is in my hands, and I’m working to get better.”
I don’t have any target as such, I just want to score high runs in the domestic season, in the IPL season, and a few things that I have been waiting for years now, they will come.
Last year Kolkata Knight Riders did not do well under the new captain Shreya Iyer, but they were revived. However, it was quite late. On asking Nitish Says” Things didn’t go well with us in IPL, we did not have the results in our favor. Hopefully, we will do well next season.”
