The NBA match between 76ers and Bucks will take place on November 19 at 6:00 am IST (Nov 18, 7:30 pm ET) at the Wells Fargo Center. The second-placed team in the Eastern Conference, Milwaukee Bucks are scheduled to square off against the ninth-placed Philadelphia 76ers at the Wells Fargo Center on Friday in the NBA 2022-23 regular season. In their previous fixture this season, the bucks managed a two-point road victory over the 76ers.
After losing to Boston Celtics in the Eastern Conference semifinals last season, Milwaukee Bucks have started the NBA 2022-23 regular season campaign on a high note with 11 victories in their 14 games so far. However, all the three of their defeats came in the last five games. Similarly, Philadelphia 76ers were also knocked out of the semifinals against Miami Heat in the 2021-22 season.
After one of the most dominating performances in quite some time, the Philadelphia 76ers spent much of the week focusing on defense. Joel Embiid recorded 59 points, 11 rebounds, eight assists and seven blocked shots in a 105-98 win over the Utah Jazz last Sunday.
In a scheduling quirk, the Sixers had four days off before hosting the Milwaukee Bucks on Friday. The Bucks won by two in Philly back in the season opener and off a big win over Cleveland Wednesday, Milwaukee is the preferred team here. The Sixers are just 4-4 at home
Starting with me just being more impactful than I was the first three or four games,” Embiid said of the defense. “Getting back to myself, protecting the rim, first of all, and making sure no one actually drives in there. As a team, I think the schemes, we kinda settled on what we’re trying to do.”
Milwaukee may be the better team when fully healthy, but it will be without two of its three best players again in this game. The Bucks also miss significant added depth in Pat Connaughton, Joe Ingles, and possibly Grayson Allen and Wesley Matthews.
The Bucks will play hard on the defensive end, but chemistry and shot-making issues on offense will be difficult to overcome here. With P.J. Tucker shadowing Giannis all over the floor and Embiid and Thybulle helping on the perimeter and in the paint, respectively, I don’t see Antetokounmpo getting many clean looks.
Giannis will be forced to pass more than he would like to, and unless Milwaukee snaps out of its offensive slump, the result could be a loss. Joel Embiid is coming off an inhumane 59/11/8 game and should play with all the confidence in the world. Even though Brook Lopez is a solid defender in the paint, Embiid’s ability to stretch the floor and shoot from deep will be problematic. I will go with the Sixers against the spread here.
