    PV Sindhu and Lakshya Sen, the famous Indian badminton players, reached the quarterfinals of the Canada Open 2023 BWF Super 500 event in Calgary on Thursday.

    However, in the latest women’s singles badminton rankings, world number 15 PV Sindhu faced world number 27 Natsuki Nidaira of Japan in the round of 16. Meanwhile, Lakshya Sen recorded a 21-15, 21-11 win over Brazilian Ygor Coelho in the round of 16, as well.

    Who will PV Sindu And Lakshya Sen face in the finals?

    Furthermore, competing on the badminton courts of the Markin-MacPhail Center, Lakshya Sen started slow against his Brazilian opponent but gained confidence as the match progressed. With the score tied at 12, Lakshya Sen won five points in a row to take control before drawing the first game.

    The second game was a simpler affair. Lakshya Sen quickly found his rhythm and scored nine straight points to take a solid 12-2 lead. Ygor Coelho did a little better in the second half, but the Indian player easily finished the match in 31 minutes.

    However, 2022 Commonwealth Games champion Lakshya Sen will face Belgium’s Julien Caragi for a place in the semi-finals. On the other hand, the two-time Olympic medalist PV Sindhu will face World No. 45 Gao Fang Jie of the ROC in the quarterfinals. Though former world champion PV Sindhu recorded a comfortable 21-16, 21-9 victory over Canada’s Talia Ng in their first-round meeting on Wednesday.

    Meanwhile, India’s men’s doubles challenge ended after Krishna Prasad Garaga and Vishnuvardhan Goud Panjala lost 21-9, 21-11 to the Indonesian pair of Mohd Ahsan and Hendra Setiawan early on against their Indonesian opponents. The pairing of Mohammad Ahsan and Hendra Setiawan completely dominated the Indians and took the lead.

    The trend continued in the second game as well. Mohammed Ahsan and Hendra Setiawan, the second seeds in the tournament, took control of Cruz and sealed the match in 24 minutes.

    Therefore, PV Sindhu and Lakshya Sen are both highly talented Indian badminton players. PV Sindhu is known for her exceptional skills and has achieved several milestones in her career, including winning the silver medal at the 2016 Rio Olympics and the gold medal at the 2019 World Championships.
