Rural Olympics India: Starting Date, Event Details All You Need to Know

For the first time in the world, the Rural Olympics will be organized. The hosting state is Rajasthan. The event will be from 29 August to 2 October. On Saturday night, the state government announced the date of the Rural Olympics. It will be 35-day-long. Rural Olympics will see the participation of over 2.7 million athletes. The age group in the competition is from 15 to 70 years.

kabaddi, shooting, volleyball, and tennis ball cricket are the main games in the competition. While kho-kho, volleyball, and hockey are also part of the event. Rs 40 crore will be spent by the state government on this entire event to be held in Rajasthan.

It will be organized in 44 thousand of villages

These games will be organized at 44 thousand 795 villages and 11 thousand 341 gram panchayats and 352 block levels of the state.

The Rural Olympic Games will be held eventually in two phases. In which, the first phase, there will be gram panchayat level sports competitions. Whereas in the second phase, block-level sports competitions will be organized. There will be competitions in both men’s and women’s categories.

Village talent will get the platform

Awards and certificates also will be given to the players for their best performance. More than 27 lakh registrations have been done so far.

The first-ever rural Olympics initially were to be held on November 14. At the same time, there has been a delay in organizing the Rural Olympics.
