The fact that the team proprietor is also the second-richest owner of a sporting side in the competition, just behind Steve Balmer, the proprietor of the NBA franchise Los Angeles Clippers, comes as no surprise.

As in bids held by BCCI in Dubai on October 25, 2021, the firm was awarded the license to the Lucknow squad. The winning bid from Sanjiv Goenka (RPSG Group) was a staggering 7090 crore. The RPSG proposal exceeded the BCCI’s basic offer of INR 2000 Crores for the IPL franchise by around 250 percent.

    Gujarat Titans CVC Capitals is the proprietor of the most recent entry to the IPL squad list. CVC Ventures won the competition by submitting a hefty bid of 5625 crores (over 692 million USD). The CVC Ventures offer exceeded the BCCI’s starting offer by 160 percent for the IPL franchise.

    The IPL team owners are the backbone of the team. It is on their merit that a cricketer’s skills surpass boundaries and compels their fan base to cycle through records.
