The first T20I between South Africa and West Indies ended in disappointment for the hosts. The match saw a delayed start due to rain, which rendered it shortened to 11 overs a side. The visitors had luck with them as they won the toss and elected to bowl first at the SuperSport Park in Centurion.
Batting first, South Africa got a horrid start as wicketkeeper-batter Quinton De Kock was dismissed for a golden duck. The top order also failed to play some big knocks for their side. However, David Miller did come through for them, scoring 48 runs in 22 deliveries. The hosts managed 131 runs in 11 overs.
Rovman Powell, as the Windies skipper, had a sensational game. Coming in to bat, Powell scored an unbeaten knock of 43 runs and propelled the visitors to an emphatic victory by three wickets.

West Indies on Saturday showed that they have the firepower in their batting to chase any target down. South Africa will have their best chance of winning if they get to bat second.

There is no chance of rain throughout the duration of the match. Playing conditions will be pleasant with temperatures around the 24-degree Celsius mark.
The surface at the SuperSport Park has been batter-friendly so far, and the side batting second could be at an advantage. There has been some assistance to the pacers with the new ball, but it is expected that the second T20I will be a high-scoring contest, given that rain plays no part.
