At the Education City Stadium on Friday, South Korea and Portugal will play their final group-stage match at the 2022 FIFA World Cup. Because they won their first two games in the group stage, Portugal is in the knockout round.
They beat Ghana nervously 3-2 in their first game of the season, but they beat Uruguay easily in their previous match. Bruno Fernandes scored twice in the second half to maintain his excellent form for the national team. The first goal was scored by Cristiano Ronaldo, but it was given to his Manchester United teammate.
South Korea’s campaign began with a goalless draw against Uruguay, but they lost 3-2 to Ghana last time out, a heartbreaking defeat. Cho Gue-sung scored twice in the second half to bring his team level, but Mohammed Kudus scored the winner in the 68th minute. Korea is still in with a chance of qualifying for the next round, but they will need to win by two goals and draw the Ghana-Uruguay match.

In their final group-stage match, Taegeuk Warriors are expected to put on a strong performance against Portugal. They performed well against Ghana. They will hope that their captain and talisman Son Heung Min has returned to full fitness to make a difference on the field because this is a game they must win.
In this match, head coach Fernando Santos is likely to make some adjustments to the starting lineup and may even bench Cristiano Ronaldo. Nevertheless, they possess the sufficient talent to overcome Korea’s challenges. We anticipate Portugal to win, even though Korea won’t give up easily.
Prediction: South Korea 1-2 Portugal
The two teams have only played each other once, in the 2002 FIFA World Cup’s group stage. In that match, South Korea, which shared hosting duties with Japan, prevailed 1-0. South Korea has lost 10 of their last 11 World Cup games, while Portugal has only lost one of their last eight World Cup games.
With five goals in two games, Portugal has the competition’s joint-fourth-best attacking record, while Korea has only two goals to their name. Only two of South Korea’s last six World Cup games have featured more than 2.5 goals, while six of Portugal’s last nine World Cup games have featured more than 2.5 goals.
